Credit Reports

There is a new service that lets people check their credit report online for free (See FTC for details). The site www.AnnualCreditReport.com lets people check their credit once a year for free. The program will have a gradual rollout. Folks in the west can start using the service in December...Folks out east have to wait a month or so (ha, ha).

Credit bureaus are scary things. These companies keep a great deal of information on us. For a long time they kept the information a big secret. In recent years, they've been allowing people to check their records. Personally, I think this openess is the best path.

Anyway, I just checked the ole credit report. For some odd reason, the credit reports just showed a big fat clown laughing and stamping papers with a "NO" stamp...Well, my report was accurate. I certainly wouldn't lend myself money.

Several of the reports had minor mistakes.

Now that there is a free service, hopefully equifax and others will start dropping the cost of their premium services. I like the premium credit watch service since it will inform me if anyone ever tries to applie for a credit in my name.

Kevin, you really need an email link on your math site. You have some interesting ideas posted and you are selling yourself short with your humility and your request for sponsors. If you have time to blog you have time to finish your math site. I would especially be interested to see your Calculus paper, which seems to be unposted so far.

I have given you a footnote in one of my papers, since I used your bitnot antiproof of Cantor as an addendum to my own antiproof. You can see it at http://geocities.com/mileswmathis/cant.html.

PS I am not as depressed as you to learn that the math libraries are being jettisoned. It is a lot of obstruction and mental masturbation and we need a thorough housecleaning. The physics libary is next, with Physical Review Letters and its ilk ready for the bonfire. I am not a book burner, dont misunderstand me, it is just that I am fairly sure that these authors are phonies. They are pretending to do math and science, just like the modern artists are pretending to do art. The sooner we get past it historically the better.
I keep my various incarnations separate when talking to most people, but you may be interested to see my art website http://geocities.com/milesmathis. It only confuses most people, who cannot imagine that an artist would be intelligent enough to commment on math or science. Perhaps you will give me the benefit of the doubt, and will be kind enough to judge me on my equations, not on the field I happen to make a living in.
