different from high deductible insurance. The MS&amp;amp;L doesn&amp;#39;t have a deductible. It doesn&amp;#39;t have copayments or any of that stuff. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Employees get money deposited into their account that they manage.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They get supplemental grants if their medical expenses fall outside the norm; otherwise, they are expected to self fund their care.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are organizations built entirely around the concept of loyalty. But this is not the whole of the economy. Many people are outside of this feudal type of corporation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Employer based insurance is the best answer for corporations designed as feudal kingdoms. Since people have little discretionary income, any savings they do have is going to pay rent, food, etc. And Seniors use a majority of the care in their final years. So younger workers would have low incentive to get a delayed benefit down the road.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The other side of the employment coin is that instead of an employer putting time and energy into hassling with a health plan, they can pay higher wages and focus on their core business. Allowing people direct control over their health care gives the people greater freedom.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, there are many people in the small business community who are looking for a solution like this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My goal in implementing this plan was as an alternative to insurance targetted primarily at the small business community.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I wrote a reply to your question about adverse selection (not published yet). In the reply, I point out that the MS&amp;amp;L is not insurance and not subject to adverse selection.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If we had a market with both insurance and a Medical Savings and Loan, people with health problems would seek employment in corporations for the insurance. But like a flat tax, it makes sense, saves money, but can&amp;#39;t be implemented.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also getting backers and employers to fund the healthcare up front could be a real issue. They would also have power and control and have a vested interest in limiting the amount of care and hence their losses in the receiver does not pay back the loan. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Employees can just find other jobs, they are getting rewarded for quitting. There are moguls inside the firms that make out like bandits, while agents work their fingers to the bone trying to help customers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BTW: The MS&amp;amp;L actually has an extremely positive role for agents and claims adjusters. Contrary to your b...</title><content type='html'>Your remark was funny as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Contrary to your beliefs, you don&amp;#39;t know my intentions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was actually a supporter of Michele Bachmann at the beginning of the election cycle. The main reason for writing this post was to explain why I stopped supporting Bachmann.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During the elections Ms. Bachmann kept drumming the message that she sees the security reports and feels compelled to respond to international threats.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If Ms. Bachmann was president and engaged in pre-emptive actions against Iran, the United States would erupt.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then i began thinking how stupid it is that most Republican candidates are beating war drums during the election cycle. I know. Utah Conservatives have slammed the door in my face more times that I can count for proposing health freedom.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This game of left, right and center has dominated politics since the French Revolution.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Conservatives are a mirror image of the progressives. I haven&amp;#39;t heard this definition of conservative since I was in a child back in the early 80s. This definition of conservative fell out of favor even among conservatives at least twenty years ago.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For example, conservatives support charter schools, vouchers and increased use of technology in instruction (online schools), but that is hardly preserving our past or social order. Charter schools, vouchers and technology are disruptive, hardly preserving social order. Conservatives also support merit pay, a hugely disruptive policy. (I use &amp;quot;disruptive&amp;quot; positively here)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Conservatives generally support a national sales tax or a flat tax, neither of which is based on historical precedent or tradition.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These are just some examples.
