Foundations of Modern Conservatsm (rewritten)

The chain of thought that produced the Constitution, The Scientific Revolution and The American Experiment in Self Rule was beautiful and constructive.

The chain of thought that produced the left/right split was ugly, divisive and destructive.

There was a huge reactionary movement after the American Revolution in which the ruling class sought to preserve the ideals and social order of the monarchy.

In philosophy, the term "modern" refers to writings influenced by Kant in the late 1780s.

Modern Logic (Hegelian dialectics and material dialectics) is a paradoxical system that makes conflict the center of attention. Modern Conservatives were reactionaries who wanted to preserve the social order. Modern Liberals were radicals who wanted to use a huge centralized state to impose social change.

Both movements are against liberty.

Hegel typifies modern conservative thought. Hegel loved proofs that freedom was slavery and slavery freedom. Since slavery was a big issue in the early United States, Hegel was widely read. Hegel rewrote the ideals of the Covenant in philosophic speak.

The ideals of The Covenant can be stated nicely. In 1630, John Winthrop wrote:
Thus stands the case between God and us. We are entered into covenant with Him for this work.... But if we neglect to observe these articles, which are the ends we have propounded, and--dissembling with our God--we shall embrace and prosecute our carnal intentions, seeking great things for ourselves and our posterity, the Lord will surely break out in wrath against us and be revenged on such a perjured people, and He will make us know the price of the breach of such a covenant.

Winthrop produced a nice statement favoring morality.

Common versions of this thought were ignorant and ugly. People wanted to frame their group as the righteous and their enemies as the breakers of the covenant. The best example of the ugly side of this belief is "The Mark of Cain."

Covenant theory starts with the Book of Genesis. The idea is that Adam and Eve had a covenant with God that Adam broke when he ate an apple. God cursed Adam and his descendants with an Adam's Apple. He made childbirth extremely painful to punish the descendents of Eve.

The theory continues: God gave man a new covenant. Cain broke this covenant when he killed Abel. God turned Cain's descendants black and gave whites authority over blacks.

Advocates of Covenant theory held that Israel had various covenants with God that they systematically broke, justifying all the hateful anti-Semitism that mars western culture.

The reason the Nazis were committing genocide was a belief that Aryan race had to rid the world stage of the Jewish race. This idea evolved from this ugly, ignorant and hateful theory that exists within Modern Conservatism.

There is an ugly side of Modern Conservatism. Fortunately, much of this thought went away after World War II.

But the intellectual foundations of conservatism still contain some of this garbage.
IT IS GOD who establishes kings. He caused Saul and David to be anointed by Samuel; He vested royalty in the House of David, and ordered him to cause Solomon, his son, to reign in his place. . .

Bishop Jacques-Benigne Bossuet

The Conservatives of 1776 stood with the British. They believed that kings had a divine right from a covenant with God.

Mormonism appeared in the early 1800s. The foundational documents of this church encapsulate the thought of the early 1800s.

The Book of Mormon claims that Native Americans were descendent of the Lost Tribes of Israel. King Benjamin granted the people a Democracy. An evil group of people called Lamanites won the election. There was a war. God smited the survivors of the war and turned Native Americans into red savages.

The theory claimed that Christians had a Covenant with God, but evil popes distorted this covenant and corrupted the Bible. Protestants are better, but they are still products of a false covenant created by an evil papacy.

Covenant Theory states that US Revolution was staged by God for one final restoration of the church in the Latter Days. The True Church was restored with the revelation of the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants (the second edition of the Book of Commandments.)

Glenn Beck latched onto this discredited idea and is running around with a show called "Covenant America." http://www.covenantamerica.us/

The quotes on the page are part of the new Covenant which was first called "The Book of Comandments" then changed to the Doctrine and Covenants.

In Covenant Theory, this document is greater than the US Constitution or even the Bible (which is believed to have been corrupted). These words are direct Commandments from God revealed through his prophet Joseph Smith!

This is the most conservative document by the most conservative group in America.

So, what does this ultra-conservative document say?

The document instructs Joseph Smith to take the property from the people and put in a big pool. Former property owners would be reduced to stewards entitled to funds sufficient to maintain their family. The residue (capital gains) would be used to feed the needy and for the glorification of The Church.

Hegel and Joseph Smith were defining right wing ideologies. Marx (a young Hegelian) defined a left wing ideology.

Marx wrote Das Kapital 30 years after Smith. Marx studied the United Order of Enoch. His ideology "from each according to ability to each according to need" is similar to the right wing conservative ideas of Joseph Smith.

This pattern is repeated in PPACA. The basic model of PPACA came from the conservative Heritage Foundation.

This pattern works in reverse as well. Marx wrote a huge tome called "Das Kapital." Marx's Das Kapital is the intellectual foundation of Modern Capitalism.

Marx's version of Capitalism is largely a perversion of the free market. The ideals of the free market was largely about liberty and property rights. Das Kapital is a dystopia in which massive pools of capital are more important than the human mind or individual liberty.

Modern Conservatives defend Marx's perversion of Capitalism to the destruction of our liberties. Marx is the inteelectual father of modern capitalism.

If you compare thoughts on the Free Market with Marx's Das Kapital, you would realize that modern dialectics is behind many of the inequities of our day.

My observation is that the chain of thought that created the scientific revolution and the US Constitution are quite beautiful.

Modern thought and this idiotic split between Modern Conservatives and Modern Liberals has systematically had terrible results.

Modern Logic took hold in the US in the early 1800s. It led directly to the Civil War. Modern think was behind the great wars of the 20th century and continues to wreak havoc socially and economically.

The underlying system of thought behind the left/right split is corrupt. If we want to restore the American experiment in self rule, we have to stand against both Modern Liberalism and Modern Conservatism. These two ideologies are just different sides of the same coin.

The Foundations of Conservatism

Readers of the previous post simply see an attack on Mormonism.

The goal of the post is to show that the foundations of Modern Conservatism are at odds with current Conservative rhetoric.

It is important to understand that the US founders despised partisanship. They failed to anticipate the rise of the party system which dominates modern politics.

The left/right split that dominates modern politics came in the early 1800s which is when Mormonism arose.

The US Founders were not Conservatives. The conservatives of 1776 stood with the British and added their musket fire to that of the Red Coats.

The US Founders had a Liberal Arts Education based on Classical Logic (The Trivium). They applied their Classical Liberal Education to the concept of Liberty. They could best be described as "Classical Liberals."

The Left/Right split came from the French Revolution. The Left wanted revolutionary forces to impose radical social change. The Right supported the views of the monarchy (the ancient regime).

The Divine Right of Kings held that the monarchy arose from an ancient Covenant with God stretching back to ancient Israel.

The Intellectual father of Modern Conservatism is George Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831).

The Kings of England were from Hanover Germany. The Kings of England funded the Germany University System and paid learned professors for framing the monarchy as progressive. Socialism is the monarchy framed as progressive.

Hegel took the basic pattern of the Leviathan and The Divine Right of Kings and wrote it in pseudo-philosophic speak. Hegel's philosophy of history has the World Spirit Evolving through nationalistic conflict on the world stage.

Hegel created a new logic which elevates the role of paradox and conflict. This logic is often called Modern Logic. Marx called his variation of Modern Logic Material Dialectics.

Dialectics presents history as conflict with forces seeking domination on the world stage.

A favorite topic of Hegel is "sublation." Sublation is the process in which words change meaning through usage. In many cases words turn into the opposite.

Hegel produced numerous proofs in which freedom turned into slavery and slavery freedom.

Reactionary Conservatives of the 1800s began projecting every negative image possible on "liberalism." Modern Liberals (the Radical Left) played to the image and created an extremely ugly philosophy called "Modern Liberalism."

The intellectual climate in the early 1800s that produced the Left/Right split was ugly. For proof just look at the Civil War. Americans slaughtered each other.

Modern Conservatism traces back to a reactionary movement in 1800s. This movement sought to restore the social order of the monarchy. The goal was to present the social order of the monarchy as progressive. Socialism is the ideal of a wonderful centralized state benefiting all people equally.

Modern Conservatism reached its ultimate expression with the Nazi and Fascist states in Europe.

On studying the intellectual history from 1800s to WWII it is abundantly clear that the reactionary conservative movement was the the heart of the rise of nationalism and genocide.

For some unfathomable reason, in post war America, William Buckley decided to play the game in which the term "conservative" had sublated to mean "classical liberal" and the term "liberal" had sublated to mean "socialist."

Both the far left and far right love playing this game.

Notice how many "Conservative" activists do nothing but project foul images on "liberalism"

Back to Mormonism.

Mormonism appeared in the early 1800s.

Hegel (1770-1831) was the absolute rage in the decade before Joseph Smith (1805-1844).

I have to repeat. The Hanoverian Kings of England were German. They funded the German University System that produced Hegel. This work was intended to be part of a reactionary movement to restore the social order of the Monarchy,

The Divine Right of Kings claims that the monarchy arose from a Covenant that stretched back to ancient Israel.

The Book of Mormon claims the Lost Tribes of Israel traveled, by submarine, to the new world and established a kingdom. King Benjamin (who was vaguely similar to Benjamin Franklin) granted the people a Democracy.

An evil group of evil libertine people called the Lamanites (vaguely similar to the image Conservatives project on Liberals) won the election. This led to a war. Pretty much everyone was killed.

This ideology attempts to capture the US Constitution. The ideology states that the US Revolution was staged by the Heavenly Father and US Constitution revealed by the Heavenly Father to create the conditions for the restoration of the Church in the Latter Days.

The Heavenly Father revealed a new Covenant. This Covenant is radically opposed to the ideals of classical liberalism.

The Covenant states that members of the new church must give all of their property to the church. Property owners would be reduced to stewards. They would be given what the church deems sufficient to sustain the families. The church would give to people in accordance to their needs. The residue (capital gains) would be used to erect a New Jerusalem to glorify the church.

If you claim to be a Conservative, you need to read this. THIS, not the US Constitution, is the best example of American Conservative Thought of the mid 1800s.

26 If thou lovest me, thou shat serve me and keep all of my commandments; and behold, thou shalt consecrate all thy properties, that which thou hast unto me, wih a covenant and deed which cannot be broken; and they shall be laid before the bishop of my church, and two of the elders, such as he shall appoint and set apart for that purpose.

27 And it shall come to pass, that the bishop of my church, after that he has received the properties of my church, that it can not be taken from the church, he shall appoint every man a steward over his own property, or that which he has received, in as much as is sufficient for himself and family:

28 And the residue shall be kept to administer to him who has not, that every man may receive according as he stands in need:
Read that quote again. If you are one of those ugly closed-minded people who spit on all liberals and do nothing but insult people and obstruct positive discourse; this is the beating heart of the ugly and hateful philosophy that you preach.

Seriously, that paragraph is the beating heart of Conservatism.

This is what Glenn Beck Believes. Glenn Beck is stomping across the nation preaching that the centralized ruling elite must take the property of the people and reduce former property owners to stewardship.

Conservatism does not trace back to the US Founders. It traces back to a reactionary movement that sought to revive the social order of the monarchy. Modern Dialectics was invented by reactionaries to undermine a free society.

Hegelian philosophy used a paradox ridden logic to present history as conflict in which nation-states sought domination the world stage.

The stated business model of Fox News is to present news as conflict with the goal of domination.

It is true that the partisan Conservative movement uses freedom-rhetoric in the grub for power. But the Conservative movement systematically fails to defend freedom.

More often than not, the Conservative Movement is the source of the institutions that enslave the people.

The issue of the day is the imposition of PPACA (ObamaCare).

Guess what? Many of the ideas behind PPACA came from the arch-conservative Heritage Foundation. When one pulls back the curtains, one finds conservatives pulling levers behind the imposition of PPACA.

Anyway, if you claim to be a conservative are lamenting the loss of freedom in America, please, stop blaming liberals and take a look at the foundations of your own ideology.

The left right split that dominates American politics came after the US Revolution. It mirrors the left right split in the French Revolution. The Left sought an overbearing government imposing radical social change. The Right sought the preservation of the social order of the ancient regime.

The logical foundations of Conservatism comes from Hegel, not the US Founders.

Please. Don't give me garbage about how Hegel was German. The Hanoverian Kings of England were from Hanover, Germany. The Monarchy of England funded this research and promoted this research. The goal of this effort was to reframe the monarchy as progressive. Socialism arose from an idealization of a monarchy dedicated to social justice.

I wish that the people who invest their souls (and the fate of our nation) in their side of the great Left/Right split would research the intellectual foundations of their petty partisan cause. Anyone who engages in an objective investigation of left and right would find that the ideologies evolved from the same reactionary movement and both the Left and Right have done outrageous harm on this planet.

The United Order and Covenant

In recent posts, I've been critical of the role that the LDS Church has played in imposing the Health Exchanges. I've noticed that prominent LDS politicians have played leading roles in the current health care fiasco.

Harry Reid (not Obama) was the primary architect of PPACA (ObamaCare). PPACA was based on a plan by Mitt Romney.  In Utah, Governors Mike Leavitt, Jon Huntsman and Gary Herbert all support the same basic health plan. There's a myriad of local Mormon politicians behind the Health Exchanges in Utah. Governor Mike Leavitt is directly benefiting by the imposition exchanges.

These people actively suppress debate about alternatives. I spent five years trying to find a group interested in studying alternative approaches to financing health care. To be turned back at every step.

Earlier this week, Glenn Beck hosted an infotainment event in Kansas called "Covenant America." This show pushes an idea called Covenant Theory. This theory holds that the US Revolution was staged by the Heavenly Father and that the Constitution was revealed specifically to create the conditions necessary for the restoration of the Church.

The Constitution created a limited government so that there could be an unlimited church.

The first step in the restoration came with revelation of the Book of Mormon.

This revelation was followed in 1833 by the revelation of the Book of Commandments. Chapter 44 (page 92) reads as follows:

You can find photocopy of the plate on The Institution for Religious Research.

25 Thou knowest my laws, they are given in my scriptures, he that sinneth and repenth not, shall be cast out.

29 And the residue shall be kept in my storehouse, to administer the poor and needy, as shall be appointed to the elders of the church and the bishop; and for the purpose of purchasing lands, and the building up of the New Jerusalem, which is hereafter to be revealed; that my covenant people may be gathered in one, in the day that I shall come to my temple.

This revelation created the United Order of Enoch. In the United Order, private property becomes church property and people are reduced from property owners to stewards of what they once owned. They would be allowed that which was sufficient for their families.

The church would confiscate the land and any residue (capital gains). Control would be handed to bishops appointed by the church. These bishops would take from those who are productive. This "residue" would be used to build The New Jerusalem and so "that every man may receive according as he stands in need:"

Evil gentiles try to frame this as socialism. It is not Marxian. Joseph Smith actually preceded Marx. For that matter, Marx studied the United Order of Enoch and drew on the experience. Marx thought the failure the United Order was the use of religion. Marx followed Feuerbach in building on radical anti-religion.

On publishing this revelation, Joseph Smith found himself facing a mob (of his own followers) who were not all that keen on giving every thing they own to the church. Two years later Joseph Smith a new and improved revelation called "The Doctrine and the Covenants." The new teachings are: (D&C Section 42).

28 Thou knowest my laws concerning these things are given in my scriptures; he that sinneth and repenteth not shall be cast out.

29 If thou lovest me thou shalt serve me and keep all my commandments.

30 And behold, thou wilt remember the poor, and consecrate of thy properties for their support that which thou hast to impart unto them, with a covenant and a deed which cannot be broken.

31 And inasmuch as ye impart of your substance unto the poor, ye will do it unto me; and they shall be laid before the bishop of my church and his counselors, two of the elders, or high priests, such as he shall appoint or has appointed and set apart for that purpose.

32 And it shall come to pass, that after they are laid before the bishop of my church, and after that he has received these testimonies concerning the consecration of the properties of my church, that they cannot be taken from the church, agreeable to my commandments, every man shall be made accountable unto me, a steward over his own property, or that which he has received by consecration, as much as is sufficient for himself and family.

33 And again, if there shall be properties in the hands of the church, or any individuals of it, more than is necessary for their support after this first consecration, which is a residue to be consecrated unto the bishop, it shall be kept to administer to those who have not, from time to time, that every man who has need may be amply supplied and receive according to his wants.

34 Therefore, the residue shall be kept in my storehouse, to administer to the poor and the needy, as shall be appointed by the high council of the church, and the bishop and his council;

35 And for the purpose of purchasing lands for the public benefit of the church, and building houses of worship, and building up of the New Jerusalem which is hereafter to be revealed—

36 That my covenant people may be gathered in one in that day when I shall come to my temple. And this I do for the salvation of my people.

37 And it shall come to pass, that he that sinneth and repenteth not shall be cast out of the church, and shall not receive again that which he has consecrated unto the poor and the needy of my church, or in other words, unto me—

I highlighted the words "shall be cast out" to emphasize that people who are not LDS are not welcome in the health care debate.

The LDS continued with multiple experiments in collective ownership. Members of some Fundamentalists sects continue to practice the principles of the United Order of Enoch. Property is church owned, adherents get what is deemed necessary to sustain the families.

One of the biggest experiments in collective ownership was the Zions Cooperative Mercantile Institution. Adherents were admonished from doing business with non-Mormons and instructed to buy their goods at the church run store. The bulk buying power of ZCMI gave the store an upper hand on producers.

Back the present. Political leaders of the LDS Church have played an active role in ObamaCare. Notably, Harry Reid was the chief architect of the plan. It was based on Mitt Romney's Massachusetts' plan. Governor Mike Leavitt owns an insurance company that provides resources for the exchanges. Governor Jon Huntsman supported the direction of PPACA in his presidential campaign.

I live in Utah. I am opposed to PPACA. I see pretty much all of the local political forces aligned to bringing the vision of the health exchanges to fruition.

I admit, I reject Glenn Beck's premise that the Constitution was revealed by the Heavenly Father to bring forth The True Church.

If Glenn Beck is wrong and the US Revolution was not run by the Heavenly Father for the specific goal of establishing a new church in the Latter Days, then what we have here is a blatant attempt to capture the American Experiment in Self Rule.

Glenn Beck Grew a Halo

Glenn Beck grew a halo!

Why is there an occult image of a Sun-God on Beck's Covenant America web site?

Why is the Sun-God icon positioned on Beck's site to make it appear that he is wearing some sort of headdress?

I really liked Glenn Beck on Fox. The Glenn Beck show discussed the rise of Modern Progressivism and its dangers.

This paralleled my own research.

I studied the foundations of mathematics and was drawn into the profound differences between classical logic and modern logic

The US Founders had a classical liberal arts education. This education was based on the Trivium. The legs of the Trivium are Grammar, Classical Logic and Rhetoric.

The Founders learned classical logic and applied classical logic to the question of liberty.  I believe that their approach is best described as "Classical Liberalism."

The Modern tradition evolved under Kant, Russeau, Hegel Feuerbach and Marx.

Modern Liberalism is dramatically different from Classical Liberalism. Classical logic is based on syllogistic reasoning and dislikes paradoxes. Modern logic is intrigued with paradox and conflict.

I fear that modern conservatism has accepted modern logic. That fear aside, modern conservatism aligns with Classical Liberalism on many key issues.

My main complaint is that Modern Conservatism is partisan to the core.

You will often see conservatives spending more time attacking the positions of opponents than in defining their own position.

The US Founders hated partisanship and failed to prepare for the Left/Right Split.

The left/right split that dominates modern politics came in the early 1800s (a generation after the US Founding). The intellectual climate in the early 1800s led directly to the American Civil War.

The Left/Right split works by presenting the public with false dichotomies. In health care, the false dichotomy is: Should our health care resources be owned by government or big business?

Rejecting the thesis that health care resources should be owned by government does not mean the resources should be owned by big business. I believe that health care resources should be owned by individuals.

Adherents of modern logic often follow the pattern of presenting wonderful expositions on the faults of their partisan opposition. When a speaker lays bare the faults of others, it is natural to assume that the speaker must some how be right.

This was the tactic used by Karl Popper. I loved Popper's book "The Open Society and Its Enemies." This two volume tome  is a no-holds-barred attack on Socrates, Aristotle and Hegel. But on further investigation, I realized that Popper was preserving the very fallacies that he projected onto his intellectual opponents.

Sigmund Freud spent a good deal of his career investigating projection. George Lakoff was enchanted by the use of "framing." I took a class on Lakoff. I was taught to frame framing as something that is exclusive to the right.

I almost split my sides watching a progressive professor frame her political opponents as propagandists who resort to framing for dubious political ends.

Politicians tend to project the worst aspects of their ideology onto opponents. The prime example is the war monger who says: "We have to go to war against our hated enemies because our hated enemies are war-mongers."

I believe Freud is correct that projection is a natural defense mechanism. We tend to project our worse attributes onto others.

The unfortunate result of projection in politics is that political movements drawn into using projection as a propaganda tool often end up doing the exact opposition of what members of the movement want.

I happen to be opposed to the Health Exchanges and over all direction of PPACA. I am scared that the Conservative movement has been drawn off into a no-mans land and is no longer capable of restoring health freedom.

I believe that health care is the most important issue of our day.

Something has prevented the conservative movement from adequately defending our health care freedom.

This link talks about occult images in Mormonism.

Freedom Fest 2014

I really dislike that I am spending so much time ragging on the "Conservative Movement."

Quite frankly, I would rather spend my time doing something productive like working on alternatives to ObamaCare.

But, since I have yet to find a Conservative Group interested in developing alternatives to ObamaCare, I am left wondering why Conservatives refuse to discuss the most important issue of the day.

For five years, I've repeated the message: "I have something important to say about funding health care."

I have a presentation that should take an hour followed by a discussion and concrete action item.

The action item is to create an entity to be called "The Health Care Advocate Association." This association will be to promote self-funded health care as an alternative to insurance.

The goal of the association is to create an alternative business model to the health exchanges and insurance.

My goal is to create a group that defines a new business model for funding health care.

The HCAA will define a business model at an abstract level.

I contend that the existence of a new business model and an association that promotes the business model could change the face of the debate.

I have the basic frame work of the business model in place. The great thing about this model is that it directly challenges the foundations of PPACA.

PPACA is premised on the assumption that insurance is the only way to fund health care. The business model creates a data-driven business model which directly challenges this assumption.

Long ago, I had access to actuarial data. My analysis showed that insurance systematically favors the ruling class over the working class.

If a group was brave enough to develop this model and if we could populate the model with current data; the group could create a traveling show with a presentation that demonstrates that ObamaCare concentrates wealth and power in the ruling class and that we would have a better distribution of income if we ditched ObamaCare and restored the free market.

What I have to say is extremely important. If a group was brave enough to host a meeting from that crazy gentile from Utah, the group would come away with actionable items and a paradigm that directly attacks the foundations of ObamaCare.

I am willing to travel. I am down to my last dollar. There is one dollar in my pocket. I will have to borrow money. I would borrow the money if I had assurances that a group would actually meet and discuss the idea.

It looks like the next freedom related event in the Mountain West will be Freedom Fest in July 2014 in Las Vegas.

That's ten months from now.

This is too late to affect the primaries and probably too late to affect the general elections in 2014, but I might be able to make contacts.

Las Vegas is 430 miles from my house. I know places to sleep in my car on the way to Las Vegas.

I can't afford a ticket to the event.

But if people were willing to meet the day before and the day after the event, I could do the following.

I would camp in the desert the day before the event. The people would go to the event and I would put in several days of work preparing for a follow up meeting after the event.

As mentioned at the beginning of this post. I hate ragging on the conservative movement.

The best idea I have at the moment is to wait ten months for a chance to sit in the desert on the faint hope that someone might be willing to talk to me while sitting in the dirt outside freedomfest.

The fact that I've gone five years without finding a conservative group that would commit to discussing alternatives to PPACA leaves me with no options but to rag on the Conservative Movement.

The LDS Church is unquestionably the most conservative group West of Tehran. This political group is committed to socializing health care via exchanges.

If the most conservative group of the nation is committed to socializing health care via exchanges, then how am I to take seriously the claim that the conservative movement at large is really interested in defending freedom?

The Afghan Covenant

Glenn Beck is in Kansas City preaching that members of his group have a covenant with The Heavenly Father which makes them the rightful rulers of America.

To save America, his group must gain power. If his group fails to gain power, we will suffer the wrath of the Heavenly Father.

The corollary to Glenn Beck's message is that Americans who are not in his group are servants of Satan.

Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, CSN News Reports, Nazir Ahmad Hanafi is calling for the murder of Afghans who convert to Christianity.

The cleric holds the view that his group has a Covenant with Allah. People who leave his group are apostates who need to be exterminated.

In this version of The Covenant: Israel is a little Satan and the US a big Satan.

Meanwhile, in Syria, Jihadist are decapitating people with this idea that they have a covenant with god and the people outside their group are evil.

I used to enjoy the Glenn Beck show. His research paralleled what I had discovered. There is something really wrong with Modern Progressivism. Modern Progressivism really traces back to Hegel who was funded by the monarchy and tasked with presenting the ideas behind the Divine Right of Kings as progressive.

Hegelianism is Covenant Theory written in pseudo-philosophic speak. A young Hegelian named Feuerbach realized that he could use radical hatred of religion just as clerics use radicalized religion to gain power. Marx framed Hegel's version of The Covenant as a class struggle.

The Nazi's built the hateful ideology that their group was chosen by history to dominate and they had to step up toe the plate to impose a new world order. The reason they had to kill the Jews was because of this stupid Covenant Theory.

Anyway, Glenn Beck was doing some interesting research on his show. I am baffled that Mr. Beck failed to make the connection that modern progressivism has the same form as the Covenant Theory that he is currently preaching.

Glenn Beck's Covenant Theory holds that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were revealed by the Heavenly Father to establish the conditions necessary for the restoration of the church in the latter days.

The restoration of the church occurred with the revelation of the Book of Mormon and the new covenant was revealed in the Doctrine and Covenants.

People are in the political hierarchy of the church are called the "righteous." People who are not in the hierarchy are to be driven from society as they are servants of Satan.

I am not in the hierarchy. According to Glenn Beck, I am to be driven from society as a servant of Satan.

I accept that I am to be driven out of society and treated as a pariah.

But let's take a gander at the leading politicians in the hierarchy. This include (by order of influence):

Harry Reid, Mitt Romney, Jon Huntsman and Mike Leavitt.

The most influential political leaders of the movement supported by Glenn Beck all have one thing in common. They are all pushing to socialize health care via health exchanges.

Undoubtedly, the Founders of the US believed that there was a hand of providence in the Revelation. But they also saw the atrocities that occur when religions pit people against each other. They hated factionalization and partisanship that occur when one group claims a religious right to suppress others. If the US Founders were watching Glenn Beck's Covenant America.. The idea that the group run by the likes of Harry Reid, Mitt Romney, Jon Huntman and Mike Leavitt have a Covenant with The Heavenly Father that demands they socialize health care via exchanges is absurd.

With this stupid three ring circus, Beck has come around full circle. He is now supporting essentially the same ideology that he was claiming to be against.

Undermining the Rank and File

I believe that the rank and file members of both the GOP and Democratic Parties are, for the most part, hard working people who want the best for this nation and for their children.

The problem in our nation is not with the population at large but with our leader.

The ruling class of both parties uses a dialectics which effectively undermines the people.

For example, the attempts of the members of the Republican Party do not result in the restoration of free market principles, the hard work of the rank and file Republican usually just results in crony capitalism.

Likewise, the hard work on the left rarely results in social justice. The hard work usually just results in political payoffs, favoritism and more crony capitalism.

The left and right are mirror images of each other.

For the freedom movement to have a positive effect, the movement has to challenge the perverse thinking of both the left and the right.

The perverse thinking exists on both the right and the left.

There is a surprisingly clear path between the thinking behind the Divine Right of Kings and Socialism.

This path started as a right wing movement to conserve the social structure of the monarchy after the revolution into the left wing movement that we know today.

After the revolution, the Kings of England (who were German) funded the universities to reframe the monarchy as progressive.

Establishment conservatives and modern progressives share the same intellectual heritage.

The result is that these groups have shrill arguments. But both parties keep coming up with the same failed solution.

In order for the freedom move to have any success, the movement has to find a way to break from this dialogue.

But, the dialectics has a very strange way of drawing people into shrill arguments that lead nowhere.

For example, I was a great fan of Glenn Beck. He built up street credibility by researching ideas behind Progressivism.

How is it that Glenn Beck missed the fact that Progressivism evolved from The Divine Right of Kings and Covenant Theory?

I see very little positive discourse taking place on the right. If people fail to get on track and start talking about substantive issues such as free market health care reform, all will be lost.

I personally am stuck in a hole trying to figure out why Conservatives systematically fail at defending freedom when I would prefer to spend my time trying to figure out how to rid our nation of the yoke of ObamaCare.

Covenant Theory in Action

If you've followed the news in the last decades, you may have noticed that there is turmoil in the Middle East.

Much of this turmoil is the result of something called "Covenant Theory."

Different groups believe that they are the righteous holders of a Covenant with God. This covenant pits them in eternal struggle with evil Servants of Satan who are outside the Covenant.

In the Middle East, holders of these Covenants believe Israel is the Little Satan and the US the Great Satan.

As mentioned in previous posts. Covenant Theory was the heart of the Divine Right of Kings. The Kings of England were German. They funded the Germany University system which dutifully created a modern covenant theory with the World Spirit battling through thesis/antithesis conflicts.

The pattern of thinking behind The Covenant creates a thesis/antithesis conflict. One might see it as a split between the Progressive and Reactionary forces with a chosen group claiming to be the path to progress and their enemies framed as reactionaries.
The modern tradition developed both Socialism as Capitalism. It developed both Communism and Naziism.

The Nazis had a particularly nasty brand of Covenant Theory that inspired a holocaust. The Nazis wanted to kill all the Jews because they were associated with an earlier Covenant.

The Covenant Theory that has the Mideast in turmoil holds that Israel is the Little Satan and Americas the Great Satan.

But, America; Don't despair!

We have Glenn Beck!

Glenn Beck is headed to Branson Missouri to put on a show of shows called  "The American Covenant." In this grand spectacle for man, woman child, Glenn Beck will put forward that theory that his group is the rightful holder of the coveted covenant.

All of those people in the Middle East are killing each other over claims to the Covenant, when the Covenant is here in the United States.

We have the Covenant and they don't. That is why the US won the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars.

While we have the Covenant, Glenn Beck brings a grave warning that evil people here at home seek to undermine the Covenant. These evil people include Barack Obama.

If we aren't careful, we will be smited by God.

Being smited by God is not a good thing. For example, the descendents of Cain were smited. The Heavenly Father smited the descendants of Cain so hard their skin turned black!

The Native Americans are descendent of groups called the Nephites and Lamanites. The Nephites were righteous, but the evil Lamanites gain control. There was a great war. The Heavenly Father was so upset that he smited the Native Americans and turned them red and savage.

See, the heavenly father uses a convenient color coding system to help keep track of our collective sins. The righteous holders of the Covenant are "whitesome and delightsome."

Covenant Theory holds that the new world was held aside by the Heavenly Father for one more Covenant in the Latter Days.

Beck's version of Covenant Theory holds that the Constitution was revealed by the Heavenly Father to create the conditions necessary for the Restoration of the Church.

The Restoration of the Church took place with the revelation of the Book of Mormon. The New Covenant was revealed in the Doctrine and the Covenants. The revelations continue through God's True Church. (Don't be fooled by any of the false churches, they are actually in league with Satan).

Isn't it exciting to know that The Declaration of Independence and US Constitution are Holy Scriptures on par with The Bible, the Doctrine and Covenants and Book of Mormon (and any direct revelation received through the political hierarchy of the church)?

I live in Utah. Honestly. This is what is taught and practiced here.

I am not in the political hierarchy. I go to meetings and have been pointed out and identified and an Servant of Satan because I am not in the political hierarchy.

Anyway, In Glenn Beck's Covenant Theory, the Constitution plays the same role as John the Baptist played in the New Testament. The purpose of John the Baptist created the path and heralded in the coming of Christ.

The Constitution was revealed by the Heavenly Father not as a plan unto itself but simply to create the conditions necessary for the restoration of The Church in the Latter Days.

Most Americans are in error for they look to the Constitution as the foundation for the country, when it really was intended as a device to herald in the true miracle: The Restoration of The Church.

The Constitution is Holy Scripture. Like most holy scripture, the Constitution needs authoritative interpretation for proper understanding.

For example, the Constitution promotes Freedom of Religion. This was necessary for the Heavenly Father to plant the seed of the new church. Evil gentiles use Freedom of Religion to spread false doctrine.

The Declaration of Independence and Constitution speak of Liberty.

But the term "liberty" must be understood through the filter of "free agency."

As was revealed by the Heavenly Father, humans are spirit babies from a distant planet put on earth for sorting. We are given free agency to see if we willingly submit to the political hierarchy. Those who hold fealty to the political hierarchy of the restored church are the righteous.

A necessary part of the covenant is that the righteous are pitted in eternal struggle against the evil servants of Satan who are not in the political hierarchy of the true church. (You know, the one revealed in the Latter Days.)

Those other groups claiming a Covenant with God are all mistaken.

Think about how those Jihadists and suicide bombers who go to the Pearly Gates thinking they were fighting the righteous cause only to learn that Glenn Beck and his group were the rightful owner of the Covenant.

Perhaps the greatest mistake people make when reading the Constitution is they think the US Founders were working to create a free nation for all the people who came to live here.

No, no, no, no, no.

Covenants don't work that way.

It is in the glorious plan of the Heavenly Father for the Covenant to divide people into factions pitting the righteous members in the political hierarchy in a struggle against evil gentiles and servants of Satan who are outside the political hierarchy.

Glenn Beck's show of shows in Branson is not just Infotainment. He seeks people to follow him in the righteous struggle against the evil tyrants who have taken control of the nation.

I probably should have warned you. I live in Utah, but I am not in the political hierarchy.

When I look at the long history of the righteous united people against their neighbor, I've come to see the political hacks as the problem and not the people who are cast out and labeled as evil.

I believe that Barack Obama has been a horrible president. The mistakes are not the result of the color of his skin. The mistakes are the result of his education and his adherence to the Alinsky style of community organization ... which ironically was influence by Hegel and Convenant Theory.

The Alinsky style community organizer is based on the Hegelian Theory of thesis/antithesis conflicts. The goal of the community organizer is to progress society by organizing half of the community against the other half which it labels as reactionary and conservative.

This is a very important point. The Hanoverian Kings of England were German. They funded the German University to reframe the ideals of the monarchy as progressive. The key idea of the monarchy was the Divine Right of Kings. The Divine Right of Kings held the monarchy was created by an ancient covenant. They monarchy promoted a conflict driven view of history between legitimate rulers and tyrants with the kings on the right side of history.

This effort created modern socialism. (It also created capitalism ... history is weird).

The Left/Right split between Modern Conservatives and Modern Liberals was highly influenced by this theory as well.

Yes, it is true that the Far Left uses radical anti-religion as a technique to gain power. The far left attacks important cultural institutions in its never ending grub for power.

The problem is not simply the "Godlessness" of the left. I believe the problem is the pattern that is found in both Covenant Theory and Modern Dialectical logics.

I loved the Glenn Beck program that explored the rotten core of modern progressivism. It breaks my heart that the man is now pushing an ugly and divisive idea about Covenants at the same time that people are becoming victims of Covenant Theory in Syria.

Grubbing for Power

I think the phrase "grub for power" does a better job describing the partisan approach to gaining power and influence than the term "grab for power."

Grabbing at power implies an openly acknowledged play for personal gain.

The way the Modern Dialectician engages in discourse is underhanded.

As a noun the term grub refers to insect larva. You might find such grub in a dead carcass or dung heap. It also applies to consumption.

As a verb the term grub means to dig at the roots. A second meaning is to scrounge. A example is to grub a cigarette. A third meaning is "to lead a laborious or groveling life." (drawn from dictionary.com).

The "grubbing" does a better job conveying the techniques of the modern radical.

The term "radical" means roots. When I hear the word radical, I think of someone approaching an issue at a root level.

I see both a affirmative and negative version of radicalism. The negative version of radicalism is one in which the radical attempts to change society by attacking the roots of society. The positive version of radicalism focuses on strengthening the roots of society.

The verb "grub" (to dig at the roots) pairs up well with the negative sense of the noun "radical."

The sentence: "The radicals grubbed for power by attacking the roots of society" completes a metaphor about roots.

Hegelian Philosophy and Christianity

NOTE: This post is largely about the Covenant Theory Glenn Beck is currently pushing in Banson. (SEE The American Covenant.)

I've mentioned several times. The Hanoverian Kings of England were German. They were from Hanover. These kings funded the German university system. Notably, King George II established the University of Göttingen in the province of Hanover! Anyone who studied math or physics should know Gottingen as a leading center of modern thought.

The American and French Revolutions created social upheaval. The result is that the great German universities set forth on a reframing of the thought behind the monarchy as progressive.

This new Germanic thought came in two waves. The first wave was typified by Hegel who created a right-wing conservative philosophy that sought to preserve the social structure and modus operendi of the existing ruling class. I repeat, The Kings of England were German. The rulers of England funded this work and actively worked to spread it. Hegelian philosophy was a smash hit in both the German and English speaking world.

The Young Hegelians loved the radical change of revolution and sought change for the sake of change. This second wave included Fueurbach and Marx. Feuerbach is the philosopher who realized that radical anti-religion can play the same role in the grub for power as radical religion. The Young Hegelians created Communism and radical atheism.

The following quote is a quote from Marx as it appears in Eric Fromm's Marx's Concept of Man:

"Hegel's philosophy of history is nothing but the philosophical expression of the Christian-Germanic dogma concerning the contradiction between spirit and matter, God and the world.... Hegel's philosophy of history presupposes an abstract or absolute spirit, which develops in such a way that mankind is only a mass which carries this spirit, consciously or unconsciously. Hegel assumes that a speculative, esoterical history precedes and underlies empirical history. The history of mankind is transformed into the history of the abstract spirit of mankind, which transcends the real man."

The Monarchy saw Christianity as a tool they could use to rule over the people. Hegel and Marx created an abstract model of the monarchist view. They are saying the same things as the Kings of England said, but with different words. Socialism is not the radical new idea people pretend. It is the view feudal lords had from the moment that the first Feudal lord bound serfs in chains to the revolution. It is just feudalism written in a pseudo-philosophic speak.

Prior to the US Revolution the Kings of England used something that could be called "Covenant Theorty." The kings claimed a Divine Right that rose from an ancient covenant with God that stretched back to Ancient Israel. Prior to the Revolution, the monarchy supported a conflict driven history in which The Covenant unfolded in different ways culminating with the establishment of the English Monarchy.

Covenant Theory is essentially a tool used by a group wanting to claim divine authority for whatever power grab they hope to achieve.

Hegel rewrote covenant theory in philosophical terms. God became a World Spirit. The nations were actors on the world stage with the glorious leaders being the head of the state. History was a great play as the actors competed for dominance on the world stage.

Hegel's Philosophy of History is Covenant Theory written in philosophic-speak.

Hegelian philosophy is not Godless. Hegel's world spirit is "God" processed through an English to modern-pseudo-philosophical-speak translator.

Radical atheists have a shrill hatred of God. Most radical atheists hold group think as a new pseudo-philosophical kollective conscious. It is funny how many people who hate god have a devote belief in kollective conscious when kollective conscious is as abstract as the term they hate.

Hegel was not doing anything new. He simply transformed all of the thinking behind the monarchy that was written in religious-speak into a new pseudo-philosophical-speak.

People in the early 1800s gobbled this up.

A great deal of Hegelian thought involved the master slave relation. Hegel adored paradox. He wrote multiple proofs claiming that freedom was slavery and slavery freedom.

This thinking was immensely popular in the early United States which was dealing with an entrenched slave based social system. People in the early 1800s loved race-based philosophies that justified white slave-owners' dominion over black slaves.

A popular idea was that blacks were descendent of Cain who broke the first covenant with God. The descendents of Cain were smited with the Mark of Cain, justifying their bondage.

The idea that blacks have the Mark of Cain and deserve to be enslaved in the most conservative idea that ever infected this nation.

This new type of thought, which was directly funded by the Kings of England, was the rage in the United States. It was extremely popular among conservatives looking for ways to preserve the social order.

Hegel defined a new right-wing manner of thinking that promised all sorts of improvements if we just returned to the centralized control of the monarchy. The young Hegelians took the false promises to heart and defined a new left wing thinking which is often called socialism, modern liberalism or modern progressivism.

The Left/Right split which dominates every aspect of our thinking today did not come from the US Founders.

The Founders of the United State hated factionalism. Advocates of the left-right split revel in factionalism. This deep intractable factionalism, which is at the beating heart of both the Democratic and Republican parties, developed in the early 1800s. In this period people were simply coming up with new versions of Covenant Theory (The Divine Right of Kings) to justify their political positions.

It breaks my heart that Glenn Beck has taken to pushing Covenant Theory.

Beck has taken to a version of Covenant Theory that appeared in the mid 1800s. This version holds that the Heavenly Father won the war for the US Founders then revealed the Constitution. The goal of the Heavenly Father was to create the conditions necessary for the restoration of the church. The restoration of the church came with the revelation of the Book of Mormon. The new covenant came with the revolution of Doctrine and Covenants.

Please note, Beck's version of Covenant Theory does not include all Americans. This theory splits Americans into factions. The Constitution as revealed by the Heavenly Father for the specific purpose of creating the conditions necessary for the restoration of the Church in the Latter Days. This creates an intractable faction between members of God's true church (aka "The Righteous"). Everyone else is a servant of Satan.

Now, where were we?

The Divine Right of Kings pushed a conflict driven version of history in which the monarchy was the rightful heir of a covenant that stretched back to ancient Israel. The Kings of England were German. They came from Hanover. They directly funded German Universities. A right-wing conservative named Hegel reframed the monarchist view in philosophy speak. Hegel created a conflict-driven view of history in which "God" was a world spirit, and nations vied for dominance on a world stage.

A decade later (when interest in Hegel was very strong in the US). The Book of Mormon presented an extremely racist conflict driven version of history in which God established a covenant with a chosen group that was then pitted in mortal conflict with evil gentiles.

Back in Germany, a radical philosopher named Fueurbach realized that radical-anti-religion could work just like radical religion. Another Young Hegelian named Marx came up with a virulent leftist version of this theory.

The Covenant Philosophy being pushed by Glenn Beck is part of a radical philosophy that has taken on many forms throughout history. It was pushed by the monarchy in feudalism and adopted by the Hegelians and Young Hegelians. It is the heart of the partisan split that is ruining America an possibly the world.

The pattern of this philosophy is simple. The philosophy presents a conflict driven view of history. The philosophy has a group chosen by a supernatural entity who is charged with task of dominate or perish. The system often includes a paradox-ridden logic. The logical system often has really weird definitions of freedom. Hegel loved proofs that freedom is slavery and slavery freedom. We should seek slavery to find our freedom. Glenn Beck's philosophy pushes a bizarre thing called "free agency." Free agency says that you are free to do as you are told or be damned.

The different philosophies used different languages and different words, but the pattern of the philosophy is the same. Beck seems to be saying that Communists were evil because they used the term "World Spirit" instead of "God." I contend the problem is with the pattern. The pattern that there is a chosen group in society with a Covenant that entitles them to rule over others leads to deep factionalization regardless of the terms.

BTW, the pattern is not unique to Christianity. In my personal interpretation of the Christian tradition, the theory that one must dominate or perish is counter to the teachings of Christ. I see the desire to dominate others as a form of evil even when a person uses religious rhetoric to justify domination. I fear that Beck is doing more harm than good with his "Covenant Tour."

Reprogramming Car Remotes

YEP, THIS POST IS AN ADVERTISEMENT: I will use proceeds, if any, to hold a meeting on the MS&L.

I thought people had to go to a locksmith to reprogram a car remote. Most remotes can be reprogrammed from within a car if you know the right combination of steps.

The site Car and Truck Remotes sells new and used remote fobs for most major makes and models of vehicles. They also have video instructions on how to reprogram the remote for your car. Use coupon labor15 to save 15% and get Free Shipping at checkout now through Labor Day. (more info).

Just as it is wise to periodically change your password, it is wise to periodically reprogram your remotes.

The video shows changing the remote on a GMC Truck. Changing the remote is a matter of going through a procedure of turning on the car, unlocking doors then holding down the button on the remote. The site has written instructions and videos for different years, makes and models of cars.
